Teej
Teej is the most popular festival in rajasthan of India. Teej is celebrated during the month of Hindi - shravan maas (august). teej festival can be celebrated in the memories of lord shiva and parvati. Married women visit their parents home and celebrate this festival of Teej every year.

teej is the most popular festival of Uttar pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. Married women observe fast and break it at evening with food and sweets. Younger girls also pray to parvati and shiva and pray them to give her good husband in near future. Women sung devotional songs and dance in the groups. women and girls specially wear green or yellow coloured dresses and jewellery on the day of Teej.

Teej Fair also been held in ground near cities and the people come to enjoy the fair in the evening time. The special procession of Teej also celebrated in some cities of Rajasthan with a great joy. This day ladies pray goddess Parvati for their husband’s good health & wealth.
 

 

Teej Fair of Jaipur
Teej Fair is very famous and biggest festival of Rajasthan specially in Jaipur. This fair comes in the month of Shravan (August). This festival of Teej is also dedicated to the god shive and parvati. This festival celebrated specially in two days in Jaipur with greatness.

People decorated their house and shops with flowers on this festival of Teej in Jaipur. Many people goes to the temple of Goddess parvati and pray for them and their family. The young girls and women dressed new green clothes and dance with sung songs during this fair of Teej. On this fair of Teej women Prepare sweets and delicious food on their home and offered to goddess parvati. Many women’s specially organised pooja and coronation(Hawan) in their house for peace and prosperity.

During this fair of Teej people make and decorated colorful procession with idol of goddess parvati. This procession taken out from the temple of goddess parvati and goes to the main market which is watched by people in large numbers. at last this procession goes to the fair of Teej where people comes and enjoy with joy.
 

 

Kajli Teej of Bundi
Teej festival is very popular in Rajasthan, But kajli Teej of Bundi is very famous festival in all over the Rajasthan. Kajli Teej celebrated in the month of august-September in every year. It is the celebration of monsoons(august). The teej festival is celebrated on the third day of the month of Shravana on many places in state, But it is celebrated on the third day of the month of Bhadra in Bundi.

The kajli teej festival starts with colorful procession of goddess. This procession goes through the main market at Azad Park. The procession has decorated camels, elephants, music bands, performing artists and colourful new dressed people.

on this occasion women’s prepare delicious food and sweets for his family. Traditional and cultural programmes that are organised in the evenings. the main attraction of Teej is held only on two days, the celebrations continue up to Janmashtami.

In some cities of rajasthan people arrange a royal procession with the idol of goddess parvati.
